In this talk, I covered the following topics:

what a gish is, and how it applies to the field of testing

how testing is a multidisciplinary field, and why generalists triumph over specialists in the face of uncertainty

how the tool we choose to do our testing informs the type of testing and the type of results we get

a hands-on example of how to do API load testing, browser automation, and chaos engineering in one script using a tool like k6

There was no recording of the conference talk, but here is a video of me going through my presentation beforehand:

In this Office Hours, he explains how to get started with load testing using k6 Cloud, which is a SaaS platform for running and scaling up load tests on the cloud. We also answered a few frequently asked questions about k6’s capabilities and how to do correlation in k6.

Luckily, Tom Miseur, who is part of the Professional Services branch of k6, was able to step in on very little notice!

Tom has done a load testing engagement using k6 that involved Hasura, so he was able to tell us what it is and how it can be tested with k6. It turned out really well, thankfully!
